International transfer of large amounts of retirement savings

I am planning a lump sum withdrawal of my US retirement accounts; a lot of money US$ >800,000. What is the best way to do this to get the best current exchange rate and low fee? The promoted currency exchange companies do not seem that trustworthy. Is it worth fussing about the exchange rate? I mean it will change up or down the day after I make the conversion.
