Canadians in Stavanger

Hi, my name is Michelle and my husband, Roger and I just recently moved to Stavanger from Newfoundland, Canada. We've been trying to make contact with other Canadians that have moved to the area but haven't had any luck yet. Would appreciate any advise you could offer.

We're actually interested in meeting any english speaking people in the area. We've been here since February and it's been difficult making contact with people. I've read some of the other topics and it's comforting to know we're not the only ones having difficulties adjusting to the Norwegian culture.

It's been my career that has brought us to Stavanger and my husband is looking for work. I've already been in contact with PWC but as I work during the day it's been difficult to get involved. We've registered for Norwegian language classes but there won't be any evening classes until later this fall. So I'm out of luck but my husband is hoping to start a day course in May (if he's not working by then). If you have any advise of finding a job in Stavanger we'd appreciate that too.
