I am from the UK and moved to Bergen in April this year. The reason for this is my boyfriend is Norwegian and prior to this we met and travelled around Australia and Asia together for 2 years.
Since moving here not a day has gone by where i havnt been depressed and miserable with this country. It took me 6 months to get a job and thats a cleaner 3 days a week..absolute joke. I have taken norwegian classes but i speak very basic and have no confidence speaking it. The people here i find rude and unaccomodating even my partners family dont seem to have an intrest in me as im not norwegian.
I agree Norway is a great country to live in..IF YOUR NORWEGIAN!!
My boyfriend works as an engineer, recently graduated and loves his new job here i Bergen. We agreed to stay here a year but i think he is wanting to stay and settle down here and i just cant do it. Im 23 and have no education as yet and starting to panick about where my life is going. My partner is amazing and i know that we have to come to a conclusion as splitting up isnt an option. He has suggested me going back and working in the Uk but i dont know about the whole long distance thing. Im so confused and so SICK of norway and its horrible weather, rude people depressing attitudes.
Is anyone else out there in the same situation? I wish i could love norway but i cant, especially coming from living in australia for 18 months where i would give my right arm to move back to :(
