Attorney's in Panama

After reading MANY questions regarding recommendations for Attorney's in Panama and their fees, I thought I would post just a little FYI. In the Country of Panama all you have to do to become an Attorney and practice law in Panama is take the required law courses in college. You can go straight from high school and no minimum grades required in high school. Once you take the required college classes (usually 3 years) designed for law. You graduate from college,,,,now you can practice law with a degree. NO BAR EXAM NEEDED, as they have in the U.S. and I presume Canada and other countries. Please read info on the following website:

IBA - How to qualify as a lawyer in Panama

My point is that it is VERY important to get recommendations from other Expats who have gone through the experience of hiring a Lawyer for their Visa and Real Estate transactions. It could save you thousands of dollars. You can send a PM to any trusted person on this website and most have the name of a great Attorney. I for one, also have the name of a respected Attorney. Most of us do not post the names of their Attorney because they do not have permission to post on these types of forums. So feel free if you need a recommendation, just send any of us a PM and we will be happy to give you a recommendation.

Buyer beware......
