Vaccination process - what to expect

Here is a crib sheet for those who have registered to be vaccinated. If you don’t speak Spanish, you might want to jot down some of the info you’ll be required to give at the vaccination site. It will be unlikely you’ll find many English speakers among the staff and volunteers.
-As you enter the vaxx centre, you’ll be given a temperature check, asked to sanitize your hands and to produce your i.d. (Cédula or passport).
-You’ll be guided to a waiting area, usually by age group: 60+, 70+, 80+. The over 80s or those with mobility issues are given priority.
-You’ll wait until a group of 6-7 people in your age group has formed, corresponding to the number of vaccine doses in a vial.
-You are directed to the vaccination area. You’ll need to register, and this is when you take out your crib sheet. You’ll again need to produce your i.d.
Write down:
Nombre y segundo nombre (First and middle name)
Apellido (Last name)
Fecha de nacimiento (Birth date)
Dirección (Address)
Teléfono (Telephone)
Corréo électronico (Email)

If you won’t be able to understand the questions, just hand this info to the clerk who’ll use it to fill out a registration log and to give you a vaccination certificate.

When everyone in your group has registered, a nurse will give some general info, then proceed to vaccinate. After you are vaccinated, you go to a waiting area where you wait for 15 minutes to see if you have any immediate side effects.

By the time I got home, I had an email congratulating me on getting vaccinated, telling me about possible side-effects, and informing me to be on the lookout for my second appointment in 4 weeks.

It was easy and efficient, and took only about 40 minutes start to finish.
