Climate in Paraguay

Many "Paraguayan" companies held by immigrated Europeans try to attract others during the months of July & August because they know its school holidays and they hope to make some business. Most of those people pretend that Paraguay is a paradise in regard of climate. It is NOT! January to March/April can be extremely hot and difficult to bear in large towns like Asuncion or Ciudad del Este. Outside these towns it depends if you stay in flat land or in the "mountains". Mountains here means maximum 2000ft (!). On higher grounds you will have a bit wind making the heat acceptable.
May-June the temperatures are dropping to 10-15 celsius and during the months of July-August it can drop to the freezing point during the night. Positive is that the temperatures during the day may rise to 20-25 Celsius.
September to December is really fine. A bit rain, but otherwise a fine climate for everybody.
So: do not always believe what these "Rancheros" and "Fincas" owner all tell to you! They merely want you to be there under their roof and abuse of ones naivety.
Despite all this: we love Paraguay and its habitants.
