Retirement in 2 years

Thanks Jim for your response. I attempted to email you but it was returned. I have been to Subic a couple of times and I think that area is a good area to retire. I was there in 67 when the carrier I was on (USS Yorktown) pulled in and the Marine Detacment I was assigned to attended that Jungle Survival Course. My wife and I went back in 93 and I was really impressed with how Olongapo had changed for the better, with cleaner streets, traffic enforcement, etc. I just remember that back in the 60's Olongapo was just like the old wild wild west, if you know what I mean. We will be returning for two months in Dec.06 to travel Luzon and attempt to decide where we will finally settle in for retirement. I must admit I enjoyed Baguio and Camp John Hay for a week and I suspect I will be spending a lot of time in Baguio in the hot season.
Tagatay still interest me as well. When we finally get settled there I do want to travel to Cebu and other places I have read about. I have not been to Boracay yet! I also have an interest in checking out the San Fernando, La Union area. Anyway I will have a lot of time to travel PI after retirement in 2007. FYI Tough to find a condo in Florida for 100K at least central and southern Fl. There is a real estate boom going on these last 4 years prices are going thru the roof as the baby boomers are getting ready to retire to the sun and beaches and golf courses of Fl. I paid 167K in 97 for my new home and now it is worth 400K. By 2007 when I am ready to sell I expect 500K. We will bail out then and make the big move across the Pacific. Hope to meet you there!!
