LIving in the Philippines

I recently visited PI, and was very impressed with the place. I stayed in Makita City which is little too crowded, but livable.. I have pretty much decided that I will retire there in two years. I believe I can live off of my US Sociial Security, after using savings to byuy a house or condo. I am a single senior(63), and really do not have any plans to marry. I have been referred to the PI Retirement Authority, which I understand can assist in getting a special retirement visa that brings with it some other benefits of retiring in PI. I have some great friends there and while there, they were overly protective, but I accepted it because I felt they know the problems of a foreigner there. I will be travelling there about 4-6 times over the next 2 years, so when I go there in May, I will look for a place to rent so that I do not have to the hotel thing during my visits. I have been given lots of advice of where to look for a house and hope to be able to do that on my visits. the first order of business is to get the proper visa, which may not be as easy as it seems.
