expat nitelife in Manila

Hello all,

I will be in Manila for one night on the 16th a sunday enroute to Boracay and Cebu ... I am a Filipina expat living in the States; this is my first time to spend a week or more in the Philippines ...

I would like recommendations for fun hip or divey places in Manila where expats hangout (30_something and up, not teenybopper hangouts, pls) .... on a Sunday night.

I am looking more for a scene that is ala-French Quarter in Paris, Soho of London, Meat Packing District of NYC, North Beach of SF...
I would not want the area where the hobnobbing of Manila socialiates occur - I want a more hip and international, professional, artsy, academician crowd... where hipness and intelligence somehow intersect? (if such an area exists ...)

would you say that the Adriatico area is still the artsy, hip and vibrant area of the city?

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
