Not under this rock, not under that one...

Afternoon all,

I've been stuck in Manila for about a month and a half now, and am really getting bored out of my mind. Outside of manila seems to be were all the fun and social live is. The second i leave Manila i find my self surrounded by retirees and tourist who can hold a conversation to relax, drink or drive with.

In Manila itself however i can't seem to get my feet on the ground. My work is in europe which i do online, so i don't have any collegues and the university provides me only with students that seem to have the maturity of kids in high school and faculty whom, although friendly, keep a reserved distance and the few that don't simply do not have the means or will to pursue the same type of R&R a young european would.

Now this of course gives me a great opportunnity to catch up on my classic literature, but that can keep one entertained only so far.
If i go out i get swarmed by a gaziljoen prostitutes and the weirdest types of gay guys. Now i only have a four month sentence left and am (hopefully) heading of for indonesia to meet up with some old friends for Christmass and New Year, but when i get back it would be nice to enter a more satisfying social life then the current one. However, I can't seem to find a none tourist population of -35 and +20 anywhere.

Where the bloody hell are you people hiding!?
