Determined to work & live in the Philippines

Hi All,

I came across this resourceful website when i put in a Google search for "working in the Philippines."

I currently work as a Marketing & Sales Associate at a financial institution in new york city. I recently graduated (in 2006) from NYU with a major in Media Communications, Politics & Writing.

My dream is to live and work in the Philippines, preferably for a multi-national company. I don't have a specific career path, but I have quite a diverse background having worked at law firms, broadcasting companies, & now for a financial firm.

I posted my resume on job search engines in the Phils. but am unsure how to approach this. I know that working there means a huge sacrifice in terms of pay, but I am willing to do that, so long as I can live relatively comfortably in the Phils.

Does anyone have any insight/advice for me? I am energetic, persistent and passionate about living/working there. I understand that landing a job there is as much about skill and talent as it is about networking and knowing people. ..

Where do I start, what can I expect, and what can I do now to prepare? I'll be there for vacation in Sept. & would like to start interviewing or at least meeting with companies to get a feel for corporate life there.

Any help is appreciated!
