Civil Engineers in Manila

Hi everyone, I'm new to this website and was hoping to find anyone who can give me advice or has been in a similar situation as I have. I'm from filipino decent, born here in the United States. I have traveled extensively in the Philippines and it has helped me tap into the love for my culture and love it so much there I've considered working there.

I graduated from San Diego State University as a Civil Engineer and have about four years of Environmental and Traffic consulting under my belt. Almost three years as an undergrad and more than a year after graduation back in 2006. The idea of working internationally and obtaining experience in other countries, not just the Philippines, sounds extremely enticing.

For those of you working, or have worked, in the Philippines, how did you go about getting a job there? I don't think the best thing for me would be to apply to a Philippine company, as I know the pay would be low. So I believe my best bet would be to work for a company that does business in other countries including the Philippines that way I can have the benefit of working for a US based company while getting to work abroad a few weeks or months out of the year. Would anyone recommend looking for multinational companies working in Australia as well?

Any guidance would be great. Thanks.
