Hey people,
I'm moving to the Philippines next month and I'm looking at my shipping options. I am not shipping more than a couple bigger boxes which will have some electronics, clothes, and a few other various important items. I think a balikbayan service would be great but I want to know what anyone from a state other than LA or NY did to ship their belongings. I ask because I'm from Dallas, Texas. I am looking at what Philippines Airlines allows and how much it will cost with the benefit of having everything with me at all times but I think I saw it can be pretty expensive for extra luggage to ship but I might be wrong. Possibly a small sacrifice for having it immediately when I arrive. Anyway I also saw that there is a possible TAX I have to pay? I have visted the Philippines before and I didn't have to pay for my luggage so would I have to pay for some balikbayan boxes? Or is this just a tax on big crates with furniture and cars, etc? Whoever has some experience please let me know how you handled the move. Thanks!
