I apologize to everyone for my tirade. Anyone who has lived in the Philippines for 5 plus years would have experienced something similar to this. It just infuriates me. I've seen it so many times. A good friend of mine was in business, it started getting successful, he disappeared and was never seen again. The Police and everyone else did very minimal to solve the case. He was an American. I just want to help protect everyone from those kind of things. The truth finally comes out when you are being threatened to be stopped by Interpol at the airport. For what may I ask? Anyone who plans to do business beware of the risks. These are things that happen to hundred of foreigners doing business and residing in the country. If you get too successful you may be threatened or lose your business someday. When push comes to shove, the laws are not the same as the U.S. where everyone is protected (even if you are illegal), you are a foreigner. The Police and Law will never be on your side when it comes to serious matters. When people start showing their muscles before a problem even exist, it's clearly an intimidation factor. Respect and trust must be earned, not pushed upon someone. I'm not trying to bash anyone. I just want to protect innocent foreigners who don't understand yet how the game is played. You don't have to believe me, you won't be arrested at the airport..Someday when the time comes ask any foreigner who has be in the country for 5,10, 15 years if what I'm trying to tell you is the truth. I love the Philippines and have many close Filipino friends. I will eventually permenantly retire there too but I'll always watch my back. I just want to emphasize that all of you should do the same. Anyway this is my last post on the consultant topic.
