Philippine Wills

There are only 2 kinds of wills. One is called a holographic will which must be hand written and need not be witnessed. The other is a formal legal document that must be notarized and filed with the clerk of the court. When my wife inquired with a lawyer she discovered that her beneficiary could not be her 9 year old niece who she has raised since she was 2 months old after being abandoned by her younger sister. The beneficiary must be her parents, though since they are deceased, it has to be one of her siblings. Out of 11 siblings, only two are trustworthy enough (since they are financially successful) to protect the interests of her niece to insure that she would not be thrown out of our home. One brother and his wife have previously physically, psychologically and financially abused her 65 pound niece/daughter while they looked after her 3 months this year. Most of my wife's siblings would only be interested in scooping as much property as they could and squatting in our home.
