Health insurance ... how to?

In the Philippines, I am sure most had seen how destitute the country and its health system is?

I once went to a top notch private dentist and while she was talking to me I saw an ante walking on her white vests! Now, what about her equipment?

Then, I went to another dentist and his assistant nurse had no clue of how to take an X-ray of my tooth! She pretty much was aiming at my lips instead of the tooth in-question.

Kano pricing with the Kano service is rampant there!
There is no way to enforce anything in a corrupt system where the uncle hires his relatives!

So, if you are going to retire there. What to do? What are you doing?

There are only 6 hospitals that are accredited in the Philippines. All are private. Being accredited don't mean much by the way. So, once again, what to do?

The best answer I got so far is ...
1- Save what you can on a monthly basis in a bank account and don't touch it!
2- Get PhiliHealth... a token pay but it helps.
3- Fly out when you stop breathing and use number 1 :)

Now, I am sure somebody is going to say ... na? I say, then why rich Filipinos go overseas to get treatment?
