Flat or hotel in Cebu

Hi
I am going to retire to the Philippines in mid-August and not sure where I want to retire to.
Cebu looks great as does Dumaguete or Mactan Island. Until I see the cities I have no idea where I would like to settle in the city or region.

My plans are to rent something in Cebu for like a month starting mid-August and look around the area to see what place will suit me best for the long term rental.

Would anyone happen to have the same (a reasonably priced hotel or apartment) in Cebu until I get orientated?

Any advise you can give would be deeply appreciated.
