Relocate to the Philippines

I have currently lived in Phuket Thailand for 4 years and want to try living in the Philippines. I want nice beaches, some night life,some shopping, able to find peace and quiet when needed and still be able to explore the immediate and distant areas.
Does anyone know about Negros and what area on this Island that would be good for a expat to live?
