entering the Philippines

i was wondering if entering the Phil. would be easier for me if i entered with a round trip ticket, and return flight 1 year later or with just a one way ticket. i plan on marrying my gf there and staying. i know that i can ectend my visa once i'm there for a while. but would it be easier to enter saying i'm going to be returning, extend my visa, marry my gf then stay and cancel my return ticket. any thoughts on this would be helpful.
