Is it really this hard for an Expat to find work.

I currently live in Northern Arizona and will be moving to Tanza Cavite in October. I currently work in the hospitality industry and spent 9 years as an Emergency Medical Technician and wildland firefighter. I do not have a degree, but I have taken college courses for my EMT cert. I have read several articles in this forum along with several other articles. I am wondering if it really is as difficult for an American to find work as these articles make it out to be? Can anybody provide any advice or contact information for anybody who can help.

Thank you all so much for your time and the wealth of information I have already received.
