Can i Enter with 1 way ticket and a Return ticket for Philippines to HK ?

I will be moving to Philippines this June 2016. I want to know if I can enter Philippines with my One way Ticket from USA. I will then show them my ticket going to Hong Kong to prove I'm leaving the country. Or would I have to buy a ticket going back to USA. Me and my Wife who is Filipino ( not us citizen) will go to HK and come back and get a Balikbayan Visa.
