Banking in PI

Hi every one thanks for your help last time.
This time is about opening a bank account and changing money, I moving there live in June after nearly three years in Thailand.

This morning my PI g/f went to Metro Bank in Toledo City but was told the following;
That they would not cash or accept Thai Baht even to open an account.
I would need a photo I guess this means a copy of my passport.
A receipt for cable TV and a receipt for electricity I do not know whether this all correct or not.
i know that once I have opened an account I will be able to TT money from Thailand into my account.
Has any one exchanges Thai Baht for pesos or not possible.
Any suggestions on which bank or how to go about this would be very much appreciated.
