Dangerous, life in the Philippines???

The reason why I keep reiterating that I lived there for 25 years is because anyone staying in the Philippines for a few weeks, months or years are still newbies. After 25 years I was still learning the ropes. I experienced Coup d'état, earthquakes, volcanoes. Life as a medical student, jeepnies, trikes, driving a motorcycle, owning a business, working and living in Metro Manila for 15 years. Driving from Angeles City to Roxas Blvd in Manila 5 days a week for 10 years. I was the only foreigner Director of a large organization (30.000 members) for 11 years. I understand and know how Filipinos think. I've travelled from Bontoc to Zamboanga (many times by myself). Good, bad or otherwise I've experienced more than most foreigners. IN ALL THOSE YEARS I WAS NEVER HELD UP OR ROBBED BY ANYONE!!! Is it dangerous? Yes it can be, like anywhere else in the world, but it also doesn't have to be dangerous. It all depends on you!!! Be smart, make proper decision and you'll be fine. I plan to be retiring in the Philippines in a few years.
