Why you live in Philippines?

I have been wondering what percentage of expats are here by pure choice versus necessity?

By choice I mean you really want to live here (and put up with the negatives) compared to your home land.

By necessity I mean you live here with your wife because bringing her to your home country is not a realistic option (there can be various reasons for that).

As an aside, looks like Philippine Government is making it harder for single foreigners to live here.
