US credit bureau issues

I just recently discovered multiple adverse accounts on my report based on medical bills that were not paid. I assumed they had been through insurance. I take responsibility for them and will settle them.
There is a chapter 7 bankruptcy discharged public record with date paid. The estimated removal is 2019.
My questions:
Will paying the adverse accounts improve my score by a significant amount (i.e. Will I get my money's worth in an up tic of score?)
Does the chapter 7 info pull my number down and if so is there way to measure or confirm this?
Any suggestions of creditable (pun intended) online sites which provide council about this?
How long after making payments on the adverse accounts will my score improve?
Thank you as this is my first time dealing with a credit report in over thirty years.
