The whole Health Insurance thing !?

Hi, can anyone part with some current information with respect to the whole Health insurance thing?. I read some of the blogs and they are not so current in some regards. Being Canadian- this is usually looked after by our Government.They will cover us abroad for 6 months, however I am planning to stay much longer than that. Probably Dumaguete.... I understand Phil-Health is quite "bare-bones" cover, as is VERY basic. Some have told me to get a policy at Siliman Univ Hospital? Can you do that ? The whole thing is confusing ! Here are some question for current answers/help I need ....What do;

1. the experienced Expats use, for good medical/dental insurance/care?

2. where do you find good cover, at a good price?

3. Do you just talk to an insurance broker there in Dumaguete to the city your in?

4., does it cover dental as well/ medicine as well?,

5. how much is should one expect to pay??

6. any parting advise would be appreciated.
