I've been using Speednet to check it. I have the PLDT fiber here close to Cebu city. Most of the times I get decent to very good readings. I however found a different site to test my speed

and this showing my speed as far slower. I was hitting servers in Tokyo, Singapore and SF. Whereas Speednet hits a server in Cebu city. Testmy rated my speeds as very good ... for Cebu and the Philippines but pretty crappy based on their scales. My top speeds there were on the SanFran server and a little over 7.0 Mbps, their scale around 22. So my question is it the connection between the Phils and the rest of the www or just Asia in general ? Hong Kong is very good and Singapore is decent so I don't think the Asia excuse works. I'm thinking the pipe out of the country needs a lot of improvement but maybe I don't understand how the net works. In most cases my net is adequate but concerned about streaming. Seems as though the speed maybe a problem. Again streaming not downloading.
