I’ll be moving to Manila within the next 6-8months.. and I had a few questions!(perhaps more than a few).
I will be moving in with my bf’s family (he’s Chinese but from the Philippines)
We are both leaving our businesses here in Vancouver to start a new life in Manila where he will run his father’s company..
The translation shouldn’t be too bad for me since I have lived abroad before (China for 6 years). But I have no idea where to start when it comes to looking for a job! I’m not the type of person to not work.. but at he same time, I’m not really sure what type of jobs there are available to a 31 year old Canadian chic with her degree in English Lit that pays more than 25,000 CNDN$/year (anything less wouldn’t be worth it) Ideas? Suggestions where to look?
Also, is there a large expat community in Manila? Preferably one that isn’t into drinking/partying.. I’m looking for other families or couples that are mature/fun/adventurous.. but not into clubbing etc
Any sports/teams/groups to join? Is it safe to play sports outdoors as a large group of expats? (Sorry for my ignorance!)
I have visited the Philippines twice.. but each time we had drivers and body guards with us which made me feel a little uneasy about going out and doing things on my own.
Is uber safe to take there??
Are there any outstanding vets that you could recommend? We will be flying our two dogs with us..
