? RE: Balikbayan Visa

I've been married to a Filipina for 30 years. Well just recently we visited the Philippines for my first time and her first time in 32 years.

Without asking we were given a Balikbayan Visa, which I've come to understand can be quite good.

We are back in the US now and are planning on returning to the Philippines in November 2018.

Question. With our Balikbayan visas do we need to purchase return airfare? I am thinking of taking advantage of the visa and staying longer this visit and I'd like to just buy a one way ticket.

Second, will the expiry date of one year on the BB visa be from the new date of entry or will it be the original date, February 2018?
