Visas

I have been trying to obtain information regarding visa requirements. I am dual British and Australian citizen. I am planning my move in January 2018 when aged pension comes into effect. I will still be hanging onto a few Aust things like bank accounts, electoral office and an address etc.
I have used the Ph embassy in Canberra but..................
I have been working through a few things with the Australian Government. (Say nothing about them) and I'm beginning to perhaps get somewhere.
I have been told about a retirement visa that I can apply for but from what I have been told I have to put $50,000.00 US into a Ph bank account. Is anyone able to confirm this for me please? Seems a lot and not sure the purpose of it.
Any help would be much appreciated even about other aspects of shifting there.
Thank you
