Hello. I have been planning for a long time to retire early and live somewhere that I can live WELL on about $1000 per month for one person. I have done a LOT of reading and youtube video watching and I think Cebu island might be the place for me, just NOT in Cebu city. I want a smaller town without the crime and bustle. I had planned to buy a home for about $60K-$70K and then use my $800-$1000 per month to live on (eating out every meal and traveling around). I just learned that you cant buy a house unless you live there 10 years and I am NOT looking for a woman. Based on the little info I have been able to find on-line, a 2 bedroom condo over 1000 sq ft will run as much as $500 per month, killing my $1000/mo budget. Any advise?? Any good sites to find nice but less expensive, western style condos in a low crime, friendly and not overly crowded town on Cebu?? Thanks for your help.
