Importing personal goods into PI - tax?

Hi - I'm new to this forum. I'm British and have lived in Thailand and Burma for almost 20 years - I was a teacher at international schools, but am now retired (60 years old) and now teach a range of subjects 'online'.

However, the visa and financial regulations in Thailand mean that I am forced to seek a new home. I have a regular monthly income ($3,000 USD), but do not have substantial savings and
my UK pension is 'frozen' if I remain in Thailand.

I'm thinking to relocate to PI, but have a question about importing personal items. I have maybe 20 10 boxes of teaching materials - books, flashcards, puppets etc. I need to ship these as freight into PI. I can sort out a shipping company, but how does the PI customs treat personal imports? Is it difficult or very expensive to import second-hand, personal teaching materials that I'll use for my volunteer teaching?

Thanks for any advice. BTW, I have 4 kids and 3 ex-wives! I'm into healthy living, (food and fitness) :)
