Existential questions...

Hello, I'm new here...I don't want to make a big statement but I have to, more or less, tell you a minimum to get your answers.

I'm 52 years old, I live in Europe and I'm so tired of working...that everyday i wake up, my dream is to go away or commit suicide! I cannot still go away because first I have to finish supporting my kids to find a job and get a life...about suicide, well, same thing, i cannot do that yet.

For 11 years I have been traveling mainly to Asia...I have visited almost all the SEA countries with the exception of the Philippines.

My love at first sight was Thailand, and until not long ago, I was almost certainly sure that Thailand would be my retirement country. But then i started following news and started trying to understand better the thainess....retirement visa is not a pancake there either now, and authorities seem to get tough on foreigners...there are just too many of us there.

So, my attention now is all focused on the Philippines...it seems that the retirement visa is easier to get...but, it's the only country i have never been in which i could be interested to live at.

Anyway I'm planning a visit there before taking any decision.

Now...i won't ask you to tell me how life is there, how safe it is, etc....i have read this forum and i have got a picture...each one of you have a different experience...and it's based on that experience that you reply to questions.

I know that it's a poor country...I was born in El Salvador, I lived 12 years of a civil war and i also lived the emergence of the criminal gangs there until i decided it was too much and i migrated to Europe. I know what's working for 180 dollars a month...i was not poor thanks to my parents...i cannot say that i had been hungry, but i crossed people that did everyday...

Do i fear to live in the Philippines? I don't know, but i want to try it out...that may be the price to pay to stop working anyway.

Now, i need to picture how my life would be in the Philippines...what will I do everyday? how can I avoid boredom? how could i avoid to regret quitting Europe?

I would like your honest answers to these questions please.

You will tell me that it depends in the place i choose to live, with whom i will live, and my budget.

I'm thinking about Palawan or Roxas city, Iloilo seems nice too...but i have no idea at all for now. To find a woman seems easy there, a woman that needs a breeder, not necessarily a lover...this part seems very complicated for me, but i know that having a local with me would make things easier, or maybe not?. And my budget, maybe around 1200 USD.

Well, for a short statement i think it's long enough. I hope to read from you soon and in abundance. Please help me answer these little existential questions that haunt me. Thanks!

A lone white wolf.
