I am sharing with the forum my experience today renewing my visa. Upon arrival in RP on July 18 my passport was stamped with expiry on Aug. 17--30 day visa. I was NOT asked to show proof of a flight out of RP.
So as my 30 days was getting close I decided to renew for 29 days today, Aug. 8.
I am located near SM North and found online the forms, process and location for the Bureau of Immigration office nearby . I was able to print the one page form and complete it in 5 minutes or less. I had a little trouble finding the BI but found it and saw about 25 people sitting around causing me to fear a long wait.
But I went to the counter and presented my passport and form in less than 2 minutes. In 10 minutes he called my name and I proceeded to the cashier to pay the 3,130 PHP fee, including the 1k for expedited (I hate to wait). They took my money and paperwork and passport and again I sat . In less than 15 minutes I was called and it was done.
My message is, it is really easy and nothing to fear. Im now good to Sept 15 by which time I will be leaving RP for a week, so all good.
Hope this helps someone.
