Skin Tax

This topic is about getting ripped off by Filipino’s, which seems to be a national sport her. After getting severely scammed on my first oil change, I went to Goodyear Service Center after buying my synthetic Diesel engine oil at Blade, an auto parts mall chain. I had 4 litres, but the mechanic said I needed 6 litres. I checked my manual and with a new filter, it did require 6 litres. I brought 2 four litre jugs worth 1,300 pesos each. They were both emptied and when I asked where the two extra litres went, the mechanic pulled out the dip stick and said here. I reminded him that he and my manual both state that 6 litres is the maximum capacity with a new filter. Four other older Filipino mechanics burst out laughing. The women in the office looked embarrassed. You have to watch closely everything they do on your car. After 8 years of getting regularly ripped off for my white skin, it irks me greatly now. Filipino’s seem to find it most amusing.
