The American "90 days fiance" TV serie has come to Swedish TV. (I like to look at some such for the PSYCHOLOGY parts.)
It's about foreigners coming to USA at a K1 "fiance visa".
Some crazy to have to DECIDE AND MARRY within 90 days to avoid deportation. Normaly it take more than 90 days to just plan and book a decided wedding... :)
BUT to be fair to the law makers, I suppouse they ment this to be the LAST step, not the first step in meeting as it is more or less for some. Some haven't even met other than through webcam before the 90 days clock start ticking!
I have just looked at 1.5 season. Some seem good chance to match but some are very naive not believing SOME of the poor country foreigners don't do it just for to get the green card so they can start geting work in USA. (Although they don't know the salaries aren't fantastic as they believe, it become a shock for them how much higher the living costs are than in their poor home countries.)
Some of the few foreigners in this serie even SAY:
/I come to USA because the salary is much higher her for my occupation.
/I wouldn't marry if I could get to USA without doing that.
As said some are possible GOOD suitings, but some of these Americans are very naive e g:
/Marry a rather much younger 20 yo PLAYBOY, who's around 50yo father is a playboy STILL, and expecting the 20yo to not cheat!!!
/An other:
no charm,
never been good looking as young neither,
obiest
rather much older
STRUGGLED to manage to pay a single ticket for the foreigner
were squezzed living with a bunch of kids allready.
The only "assett" is being kind at naive level.
How can such person even believe a good looking carismatic educated younger foreigner would want to marry for other than the Green card???
An other remarkable thing is some of the Americans "welcome" their expected to become spouses to DIRTY appartments. One even had the sink overfull of dirty dishes and had a bunch of dirty clothes laying on the floor. I couldn't see at TV how dirty the appartment was. After fetching the foreign woman at airport that American expected her to clean up HIS mess, while he sat down and played video game himself!!!
(Women from some cultures expect to need to do all house work self, but I don't believe they expect to get such crap start.. They looked shocked.
