Kitchens & hot water

Though I've been to the Phils, I've always stayed at a hotel of some kind and know zero of private homes. I'm researching apartments on the net now and seem to see very little of kitchens. Do most places have stoves and ovens e.g.? And are US sized fridges standard or not?

I have similar questions about hot water with which to wash dishes, pots and such. Is that normal or fairly unique or what?

I prefer to eat home so these are important to me. Eating out is generally boring. I was spoiled years ago by having a home in Paris where eating out was wholly different from doing so in most other places. Then, it was impossible to get a bad meal in France. Same with Belgium btw.

Thanks for your input.
