Unrealistic expectations

Although many people in the Philippines speak or understand English (definitely when written down). the Philippines is not the U.S. or any other large western country. Almost every Filipino has friends or relatives living in the U.S. I guess you can say in general, Filipinos have a better connection with Americans than expats of other countries but the Philippines has it's own culture and idiosyncrasies. The point I'm trying to bring out is you are in a foreign country. You can't get annoyed because things are different than it is back home. You are not in your original country anymore. You made or are making the decision to live in the Philippines because the positive outweighs the negative. Enjoy the positive and learn to not allow the negative things to upset. Learn to deal with it, otherwise you'll never last in the Philippines.
