Coming Someday?

Hi,

Whenever travel resumes, I plan to travel to the Philippines to live fulltime.

I have been there three times, 1999, 2004, and 2009. Lived in SBMA (old Subic Navy base), Dumaguete, and Angeles for a total of over 5 years. Left in 2010.

Since I plan to live there fulltime this time, I am looking for a modern city (fairly fast/reliable internet; good places to eat/shop; few and short brownouts; without a lot of heavy traffic).

As if that wasn't enough, it would be nice if there were nice beaches (sandy, clear water, fairly healthy to swim in) nearby.

There probably isn't such a place; so, I will have to find one closest to what I am looking for.

Not looking to buy, but probably just rent--possibly a condo or townhouse.

I appreciate any thoughts and recommendations on areas that might be good for me.
