SRRV Police Clearance

According to the PRA website, one of the qualifications to accomplish an SRRV is "Original valid Police Clearance from country of origin".

What I want to ask is what level of clearance needed. This seems rather vague. I am located in the United States. Do I need a local, state or federal clearance? Where is the best place to get this clearance? Thank you in advance.
