Moving to Iloilo

My username is "Snowbound". I have been married to a Filipina for 20 years. I am 69 years old, my wife is 66. We live outside of Boston.

We have a house in Iloilo Province. It's a beautiful house on a family compound of 10 Hectors with 3 other homes owned by my wife's siblings. We have no children.

We plan on traveling there for Christmas 2021 and we are planning to cash out in America and move permanently to the Philippines at the end of next year (2022).

I have never been to the Philippines, but my wife has gone to our house every year, for 10 years. She spent about a month each time.

I would really appreciate any advice any expat with experience can give me.
