Phone Number

Hi!
Just a question about the phone number., what has happened in the past. When you visit immigration to renew your tourist Visa, I heard they will ask for a phone number you can be contacted on while you are in the Phillipines. Does this phone number have to a Philippines phone number or can it be a phone number from the phone you are using from your home country? What if you didn't have a phone? Can you give a number of a Philippine friend or girlfriend for instance? The other option for me is to buy a prepaid Sim Card for travelers in my home country Australia and I will be supplied with a new phone number. I can give that number to immigration. Just considering my options. Thanks for any information! Chris
