Price of onions

I'm surprised this topic has not shown up on the forum. Has anyone got inside information on the recent activities on securing supply and getting the price back to normal? When there last November I noticed the price of a cooked chicken had exceeded the price for the same here in Ireland including onions eggs and potatoes are going up rapidly and in some cases exceeding Irish prices.
