Any reason to apply for dual-citizenship in US vs Philippines?

Is there any benefit for my wife to obtain her dual citizenship in the US instead of waiting until we go to the Philippines?

(Nearest consulate if 500+ miles away... and I'm debating if there is any reason why it might be superior to do it in the US ahead of time).
