Land Grab Scare

Hi everyone
there was a thing in uk newspapers about the Portugese government preparing to take land and properties on the coasts to save the coastline or save it for development for tourism? It would be compulsive and probably no compensation given. It seems to have gone away now does anyone have an update? We are interested in buying on the Algarve and do not want to risk our life savings.
