D7, Residence & Time Out of Country

So wondering if anyone might kindly confirm or correct some current working assumptions:

- The time from the D7 activation until the scheduled SEF meeting can officially be up to 4 months and perhaps even longer,
- In that window a person can leave the country once.
- That time away could be up to nearly the entire time from the D7 being active and the SEF meeting (not my intent but finding flexibility where available if needed: see below),
- Once a First 2 year Residency Permit is received a Resident may be out of country 8 months total if intermittent or 6 months if continuous.
- There are no other restrictions on the First Residency Permit (ie one cannot be out of country in the first 6 months or other),
- The second Residency permit, 3 year Residency permit a person can also be out of country for 8 months total if intermittent or 6 months if continuous,
- After 5 years an eligible Resident may apply for Citizenship. This may take about a year from application and one would ordinarily concurrently file for a Third Residency permit to cover while waiting Citizenship determination.

I am committed to living in PT FT should I be honored with the chance and am preparing to be fully moved upon arrival with D7 visa. No problem. My concern arises from health problems with elderly family members abroad and complications that could compel travel now difficult to project. Want to make sure I don't commit to the move until I am at least confident I understand PT's requirements and then make a judgement on when they might be realistic.

Thanks for your kind help and generous sharing of your time. Happy to participate in kind where able and all the best in your research, preparation & PT Life!
