scouting trip

I will be in Portugal 7-24 thru 8-6 and would love to attend an Ex-Pat group meeting if you have one. I'm starting in Lisbon for a few days just to be a tourist. I can't afford to live there and anyway I'm not a fan of big cities. Then I am looking at heading up the Silver Coast as far as
Caldas Da Raingha but these places are just names with brief online descriptions. I want to discover if I'm a "fit" in any particular area. For that I need help from people on the ground. If there are any Silver Coast Ex-pats who would like to steer me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate that. I'm also drawn to Tomar and would like to at least visit. My interest is mainly because I'm a Templar fan and know just that alone is not a good enough reason to make a life changing decision. The last part of my trip will be south of Lisbon as far as Setubal just to see the climate difference. I'm more of a country woman, but don't want to be rustic - just enough green space to breathe. I'm a retired English and ESL teacher, 74 years young, am a licensed Life Coach and will be doing business online, Oh, and really cold winters are out. I never want to see a snow shovel again!
