After School Care

Hi,
This might be a naive question, but I am arriving this week in Doha from Australia to work and will be bringing my daughter. We haven't organised school, but I am wondering if they have before and after school care in schools as they do here. I also hear it is difficult to get into schools and there are long waiting lists. Is this true?
