Gyms/Weather

I may be moving to Qatar, and as a single woman who likes to work out on a daily basis, I've been trying to find info on gyms. Looks like Aspire is the best one, but all exercise classes are gender-segregated. Does anyone know if the open exercise areas (weight-lifting, stationery bikes, ellipticals) are coed?

Also, is it acceptable for a woman to walk or cycle on the Corniche? And is everything flat--no hills, I presume?

Weatherwise: I gather it's too hot to do anything outside May-Oct, but hopefully possible otherwise.
I've heard of people getting depressed from "dusty weather": are these huge dust storms, or what? Do they subside, or does the dust hang in the air for days (like pollution)?

Thanks in advance for any input!
