Residence Visa Drug Test?

Greetings,

My friend recently got this job offer in Qatar and so far he's going. However he has taken a fair amount of drugs and I am personally worried because i know Qatar has some very very strict drug laws.

Question is, when you are applying for your work permit/Residence visa you have to do a medical checkup which includes a blood test.

Do they only for HIV or do they test for drugs as well during the process?

Have there been any cases of expats running into trouble when they do a regular blood test and the hospital runs a drug test behind his back,?

That'd be a bummer seriously
